The question
What can a reader conclude when one address consistently feels slower than another?

Set out flat, in the arrangement they were handed over, with nothing added. Nothing on this page marks one of them as the main one, because on this site that would be the one claim the studies are all arguing against. This reference opens none of them and measures nothing about them.
The observation is real
Readers are not imagining this. One route often does feel slower than another in a given sitting, sometimes markedly, and the difference can persist long enough to feel like a property.
The question is not whether the difference is real. It is what the difference belongs to.
What varies between two attempts
- The path built for that attempt, which is chosen fresh and is not the same as any other attempt's.
- Whatever is happening along that path at that moment, none of which is visible to you.
- The state of your own connection, which affects both routes but not necessarily equally at the same instant.
- Whether anything was already held by your browser, which can make a route look instant for reasons that are not about the route.
Why a repeated pattern is still not a property
Suppose one route has been slower three sittings in a row. That is four attempts of evidence about paths, not about addresses, and paths are rebuilt constantly.
A pattern over a handful of attempts is exactly what randomness looks like at that sample size. The study on the circuit being yours is the general form of this argument, and this is its most common instance.
The exception nobody can check
It is entirely possible that three services genuinely differ in some way that affects how quickly they answer. This site has no way of knowing, because it never opens them, and a reader has no way of separating that from path variation.
So the honest position is not that they are identical. It is that a reader cannot tell, and that acting as though they can produces the ranking described in assuming a ranking.

Slowness and silence are the same spectrum

What it is worth in total
A speed difference between routes is worth acting on for the next five minutes and worth nothing after that. Treated that way it is a small convenience. Treated as a discovery it becomes a belief that quietly ranks the set.
A fair summary of what can be said
One route being slower than another right now is a fact about right now. Whether the three differ in some durable way is a question nobody outside the market can answer, and a reader has no instrument that would separate the two.
Saying that plainly is more useful than either claiming they are identical or building a ranking from a handful of impressions. It leaves the reader with an accurate picture of their own uncertainty, which is what allows them to act proportionately.
If there were only one address
